
Jennifer Morgan Smith, LMFT, MBA
Jennifer Morgan Smith is the co-founder of PassageWise. She is an LMFT, an AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor. Jennifer also earned an MBA after working in hospital and treatment center administration. She has worked in intensive outpatient, residential, traditional outpatient, and inpatient settings. Over the last twenty years, Jennifer has held various leadership positions including Supervising Therapist, Clinical Director, Admissions Director, Executive Director, and Chief Clinical Director. She has overseen clinical and program development and helped to change culture within treatment organizations. She is a strong proponent of trauma informed care and the importance of changing the perspective of others from “what is wrong with you” to “what happened to you”. She believes that understanding one another and building relationships with empathy will help increase our success in the field of mental health and wellness, as well as in our business and personal relationships.
Jennifer has been presenting and training to various audiences throughout her career. The topics have included trauma, trauma informed care, social media, clinical supervision, suicide prevention, communication skills, resilience, self-care strategies, and self- reflective leadership practices. She believes in the value of education and aims to be a life-long learner. In 2021, she appeared on Studio 5 to talk about the impact that COVID 19 has had on mental health.
Personally, Jennifer has been married for over 25 years and they are the parents to four daughters. They also have several animals that grace their home including dogs, cats, and chickens. She has several interests and a love of people. She places significant value on the friendships she has developed and maintained with others – some of which she has had since preschool. She is always up for a gathering with friends and family and is known for her ability to pull people together. Jennifer loves photography, travel, reading, and finds TV and movie character development intriguing.
