John M. Robbins, PhD, LMFT
Dr. John Robbins is the co-founder of PassageWise. He is an LMFT, an AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor. For the past twenty years, Dr. John Robbins’ professional passion has been twofold: directing the TEAM Program and training individuals seeking licensure as mental health professionals. The TEAM Program (Teaching Excellence through Active Means) is an interactive, group program designed with a team building and organizational wellness development focus. John takes what he has learned from the members in these groups and believes it has given him great insight on what makes for healthy members of an organization and a heathy organization overall. Most importantly, John understands that when members of a group stay congruent to their values and beliefs, and the organization does the same thing, then the business and the individuals in that business thrive. His primary framework as a group facilitator, therapist, supervisor, and instructor is competency-based, focusing on relational strengths and how they can be nourished.
John has over 100 international, national, and state presentations focusing on topics including, self-reflective leadership, healthy communication skills, conflict resolution, flexibility and maneuverability in relationships, self-care strategies, as well as suicide prevention and numerous other healthy relational approaches. In 2000, he received national acclaim in USA Today for his cutting-edge work in the area of integrating spirituality and psychotherapy. His book with Haworth Press, entitled The Power of Spirituality in Therapy: Integrating Spiritual and Religious Beliefs in Mental Health Practice, was published in 2004.
