Dr. John Robbins and Jennifer Morgan Smith are fantastic! Their ability to balance educational lecture with participant interaction was very helpful for me to better retain the information and identify pragmatic application of principles. I have been a field supervisor for several universities with clinical master’s programs since 2005. With the recent law change and a need for supervision among clinical disciplines I attended the UAMFT training with John Robbins and Jennifer Morgan Smith. Not only is their knowledge vast in regard to clinical process, laws impacting service delivery, and ethics; they deliver the training with ease and excitement. Those attending a training with John and Jennifer will come away with a better understanding of the WHY, HOW, and WHAT to provide for better clinical supervision while shaping the next generation of clinical providers.

John and Jennifer have such a great dynamic and approach to teaching supervision concepts! John Robbins and Jennifer Morgan Smith are some of the best mental health trainers in Utah! I was privileged to be in one of their first ‘classes’ of the UAMFT Approved Supervisor Trainings. As mental health professionals, John and Jennifer helped teach us how we can be more effective, intentional and engaged as we supervise the next generation of therapists. Not only did they teach us about regulations, policies, procedures, and the ethical duties of a supervisor, they focused on helping us learn how to really challenge our trainees to grow into the profession, utilizing their own unique talents and abilities, and become authentic to their own style of therapy, while maintaining the professional and ethical standards of care. They presented in a fun and entertaining way that captured our attention and kept us engaged throughout the training experience. I have utilized many practical tools provided to us and have found the course to be incredibly helpful as I supervise pre-licensed professionals.
